Breast Cancer Awareness Drive

Globus Initiates "Breast Cancer Awareness Drive" as part of their women's festival called "Life Is beautiful" in Assosiation with Roko Cancer Charitable Trust. This awareness will be done from7th May - 30th May 2010 at their 25 stores onvarious locations of India. It is estimated that around 757000 persons are being aware by this Breast Cancer Awareness Drive.

The Real Woman of INDIA, Photo Exhibition

 A Photo exhibition of The Real Women Of India was organized by Lesley Saunders in support of Roko Cancer Campaign at ITC Gardenia Hotel in Bangalore. The event attracted a big gathering. The proceeds of the auction was donated to Roko Cancer for its activities in India .Mrs. Lesley Saunders was also honoured by Mrs. Isha Bhandari as the Global Champion Extraordinaire of the Roko Cancer Trust.

Turner International - 29th October 2009 
 
A presentation on Breast Cancer Awareness was conducted for the staff of Turner International at their office in Gurgaon. A talk and a presentation was given by Dr. Puneet Gupta, Senior Consultant ,Oncologist and Medical Advisor to Roko Cancer Campaign, Apollo Hospital New Delhi. The turnout was large as men and women staff of Turner International were present. Two women in the audience were personally touched by cancer and they came forward with their experiences. The Q & A session lasted for a hour. Three interviews were also conducted which were very informative. Roko Cancer awareness films were also screened and Breast awareness pamphlets were distributed.
  
WAVE Westend Mall Ludhiana - 04th Oct  to 6th Oct 2009
In Ludhiana Westend Mall, Roko Cancer participated in four days Diwali Mela organized by Westend mall. A stall was put up by the charity for cancer awareness. The Public Interest Message voiced by Ms.Sushmita Sen former Miss Universe and Bollywood actor was screened.
  
On 28th July 2009, a presentation on Breast Cancer awareness was conducted by the charity at the American Embassy. The presentation commenced with the screening of Love for Life a film about the need to alert women to the seriousness of getting a Breast Examination done. Dr. Puneet Gupta, a well- known oncologist from APOLLO Hospital, shared briefly with the addressees the origin, symptoms, treatment and prevention of Breast Cancer. The presentation concluded with the public interest message.

On 21st April 20Team at work09, A presentation was conducted by the charity at Delhi Cantonment for Mrs. Kirti Kapoor, President AWWA (Army Wives Welfare Association) and other Regional Presidents AWWA from all over India. The presentation in New Delhi created an opportunity for the Roko Cancer Charitable Trust - India to engage the national leaders of the AWWA in a Conversation on the subject of awareness and early detection of Breast Cancer. The Regional Presidents AWWA constitutes the national leadership of the AWWA and plans across the country welfare programmes for  the families. The presentation began with an audio-visual presentation by Ms. Isha Bhandari on the need to be aware about breast cancer and how women in different parts of the country have coped with the disease at the level of self, family, and community. Dr. Puneet Gupta, a well-known Oncologist, shared briefly with the participants the causes, symptoms and responses that women along with their families need to consider should they find themselves in such a situation. Roko Cancer showcased the mobile unit. Awareness literature was distributed. A film on awareness was screened along with a Public interest message.                                  


On 17th Feb 2009,
Roko Cancer in partnership with World Universities Services organized an Awareness Seminar at Bharti College, Tilak Nagar New Delhi. A presentation was given by Dr. Puneet Gupta, Cancer Superspecialist, Medical Oncology, Apollo Hospital, New Delhi on Cancer Awareness and Early detection and by Isha Bhandari, Director Operations on the trust activities and the need for cancer awareness in colleges.

 WalkOn 26th Nov 2008, Roko Cancer Organized a Seminar on Cancer Awareness at Airforce Auditorium.The seminar was presided over by Mrs. Zareen Major,President AFWA (Airforce Wives Welfare Association). About 300 ladies participated in the seminar.An Awareness exhibition was organized by the trust where literature on cancer was distribute and breast self checkup was taught to the ladies. Films on cancer awareness were also screened.
