Roko Cancer Charitable Trust was set up in 2005, for spreading awareness and early detection of Cancers, namely- Breast, Cervix and Oral, by a London based NRI of distinction and vision, Mr. APS Chawla,
who lost his wife due to breast cancer.
Pr’Onco was conceptualized to create awareness and share knowledge regarding screening and prevention of cancer, latest trends and technologies involved in early detection and busting some common myths associated with the dreadful disease.
The Conference will be attended by professionals from World Health Organization, acclaimed Oncologists, oral surgeons, researchers, public health professionals, corporates, Non-Government Organizations working on cancer and other key organizations and individuals.

Dr. Chaturvedi leads the Oncology team at Max Healthcare consisting of 80 oncologists spread across 7 major super specialty centres, and other standalone centres across Delhi NCR and North India. Dr. Harit Chaturvedi started his oncology career at the esteemed and well known Cancer Institute, Adyar (Chennai). Dr. Chaturvedi has performed surgeries at live surgical workshops and has been championing the cause for cancer awareness. He is the President-elect of the Indian Association of Surgical Oncologists and until recently was also the President of Indian Society of Oncology.
Dr. Ashok K. Vaid has authored a number of publications, research papers and abstracts and has been actively involved in organizing various seminars, workshops and conferences throughout the country. Dr. Vaid has also conducted more than 40 international and national studies in clinical research. He has the unique distinction of having carried out the first 25 bone marrow transplants in any private sector hospital in North India.
Dr. Sabhyata Gupta is the first gynaecologist in India to do Robotic Gynaecological surgery for cancerous and benign (non cancerous) gynaecological conditions. She has expertise in Gynaec Oncology, colposcopy, advanced Gynaec laparoscopy, robotic surgery & hysteroscopy. She has authored a number of publications, and has been actively involved in various seminars, workshops and conferences throughout the country and at international level. She is currently Executive member, Association of Gynaecologic Oncologist of India
With nearly 37 years of professional experience in health sector in teaching and health program management at the national level, Dr. Bachani has a background in Community Medicine and nearly 20 years of experience since 1992 in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. He had significantly contributed in the strategic management, monitoring, human resource development and resource management of these programs.
Currently in the capacity of Deputy Commissioner (NCD), he is managing NCD programs relating to Cancer, Diabetes, cardiovascular Diseases, Trauma and risk factors. He is member/convener of various committees constituted for NCD prevention and control. He has more than 85 publications in various national and international journals and large number of technical reports and guidelines.
He is also the Director Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at Lady Hardinge Medical College & Associated Hospitals, New Delhi.
